Bruno Murciano & DSG

Bruno Murciano, co-founder at de Vinos and award winner Sommelier, teamed up with David Sampedro Gil to pursue a lifelong dream to elaborate a range of wines made from what is the “queen” grape in his native homeland of Utiel-Requena: Bobal. These wines are made from 7.5 hectares of vineyards that Bruno bought in a sloppy hill surrounded by pine tree forest. These are 70 to 80 years old,  organic vineyards located at 800m. Bruno and David use artisanal methods and biodynamic techniques in the vineyard, plus they intervene as little as possible in the cellar, so that Bobal can transmit its full potential (its fragance, its colour layer and tannic power).

In 2012, Bruno and David teamed up with Valencia-based winery Valsan 1831 to create “Compañía Vitivinícola del Mediterráneo” to elaborate wines with grapes and personality from the Spanish Mediterranean Coast. For instance, they are making the wine consumer rediscover one of the most important grape varieties in that region: Moscatel. A great example of this white grape is “El Novio Perfecto” (the Perfect Boyfriend): an easy-drinking off-dry white wine that is very light in alcohol.
