Luna Beberide
Thirty years after Bernardo Luna started making wines, today, the second generation of the Luna Beberide family, led by Alejandro Luna Beberide, only intends to follow this line of simplicity, quality and search for excellence based on the care and respect for the vines since 1998, when Mariano García, who was a winemaker in Vega Sicilia for many years and a friend of the family, started to make the first reference red wines of Luna Beberide
The Way of Santiago crosses the vineyards of Luna Beberide, located in the west of El Bierzo, one of the most unique areas of the Autonomous Community of Castile and Leon. Finca Valdetruchas enjoys a mild microclimate with extraordinary luminosity and has 50 hectares of its own vineyards located at an altitude of between 500 and 900 metres in Villafranca del Bierzo. With a clay-limestone soil in the lower area and slate in the higher areas, short, green pruning, a thinning out before the harvest and yields of 25 to 30 hectolitres per hectare, the best of the Mencia grape is extracted, the queen of this denomination of origin.
