The DOC del Collio area comprises some 1,600 hectares of vineyards in a hilly area, which extends over the entire northern length of the province of Gorizia adjoining the border with Slovenia. The area covers a sequence of slopes that develop along the wide areas exposed at midday, which are well suited to high-quality viticulture.
