In 1903 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Alexandre de Mayol de Lupé and Félix de Cholet decided to join forces to create the House which still bears their name, Lupe Cholet.
« To bring together the best of soil, vine and human skill to produce wines of unique personality » was their motto and is still ours today.
Being specialists in great wines is backed up by the running of our own estate.
Wine growers first and foremost, our winegrowing methods are chosen with respect for the environment with no rule planned in advance. The work is based on observation of weather conditions and health of the vines.
Our wines are made with quality grapes and the work is very meticulous over the seasons : ploughing, strict pruning, minimum spraying, green harvest. The grapes are hand picked when the balance between sugar and acidity is at its best. Afterwards, they are carefully selected on the sorting table.
